Two big long-term projects off of my plate today- my review of my new smartphone for my tech blog went up today (see below), and I delivered the final reports for the 4 energy audits I led for ESW last quarter.

Some background: IBM built Jeopardy-playing software to be run on a super computer, and they’re going to pit it against Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, two of Jeopardy’s most successful constestants. And in the practice round, it beat them.
This is one of those things that makes me proud and excited to be studying computer engineering. More info and video...

Couple of friends from home made this. I really miss making music like I did at home- wish I had a group at NU to play with. Maybe when I get my hands on some precious free time this summer I’ll try some songwriting myself.

The fact that we’re starting to see more and more car companies go the electric route is exciting to me. I wish more automakers had big-picture plans though, in helping to make the electricity we’ll be filling these cars with cleaner as well.
