Disclaimer: this is almost a year old (I’m cleaning out my Read It Later Queue over break) but still super cool technology.  Just a matter of time before we start seeing this technology in all of our LCD screens…

Incoming: A Native Gmail iPhone App. Finally.
I sincerely hope MG’s right about this one.  The lackluster Gmail experience on iPhone is one of my chief complaints about living on iOS so far,  so I’m really pumped for this.  Especially if the app exhibits some of Google’s new minimal-readable design sense (which I would expect it to). parislemon: Ever since I bought the original iPhone in 2007, there’s been one app above...

Been a big fan of Baths since he played NU with Best Coast last year.  If you haven’t heard him yet, check out some of his other stuff, it’s a little more exciting than this.  However, this video is more toned down and raw than his usual sample triggering crazyness, and it’s shot beautifully.

How to Fix Our Math Education - NYTimes.com →
This resonates with me.  Sometimes I think sticking to the ways we’ve always been doing things in education keeps us from making it better- Science and math are fields that are meant to be applied, and I think more kids would be interested in them if they could see this.

Pretty cool.  I’ve been thinking a lot lately about maps as figures, and as ways of getting information across, but this is a cool example of their aesthetic value.  Be sure to pan, zoom, and click the Go! button for the full effect.
